Video assessment guidelines/Instructions:

These are just my guidelines and only apply to folks wanting to send tapes to me for assessment and coaching.

Video coaching rates:

The cost is a flat fee and does not expire and include phone feedback!

Level 1 - $100 - Savvy Club Price $75!

Level 2 - $200 - Savvy Club - $150

Level 3 Coaching - $300 - Savvy Club --> No Charge

I am a talk-to-you kind of gal, I prefer to know you, your situation, the horse, etc. There are very few hard-and-fast rules in Parelli, but to answer some frequently-asked questions, I have put down some information that may help.

It is critical that I am able to see BOTH the horse and person in the video frame at the same time.

I need to be able to see them as close-up as possible while still seeing everyone’s whole body..

For the circling game, getting up high above you is great. (Zooming in and out to get closer.)

I also strongly suggest that your camera person use a tripod in order to not jiggle and cut off a critical part of the action!!

The video should not stop and restart during a task(even when you switch sides).

You may tape on different days or all on the same day, as you like…as long as you complete a task on the same day. For example, I wouldn’t want to see you placing the saddle wearing one shirt, and reaching for the girth wearing another shirt!!

I encourage you to keep the tasks in the same order as on the task list; it makes it easier for me to follow what you’re trying to show me and they are in a logical sequence.

I strongly encourage you to make a copy of your tape before you send it. Send me the copy and you keep the original. I do NOT return tapes and they are destroyed as soon as I phone you with the results. Tapes have gotten lost in the mail or mis-delivered; if you have the original you can copy another one rather than retaping everything. Also it’s a great boost when you pull out the older tapes and see how far you (and your horse!) have come!

Do not submit more tasks until you hear from me about the tape you already submitted. That way, if anything needs correcting, you won’t have to retape and resubmit it.

Please do not send multiple versions of the same task for assessment. Get it working good then tape it. If you have a question on how a task is to be done please give me a call and I can probably clear up your confusion.

Please include the blank Assessment forms that match the tasks you are submitting and a sheet listing the items in the order that they are on the tape. To download the official assessment please

Please write on this sheet your phone number, full name & address, e-mail address if any, and the best time to reach you at home. BE SURE AND INCLUDE YOUR SAVVY CLUB# ON YOUR PAPERWORK.

The tasks should not be more than one month old by the time you send them. This is to cut down on your frustration when I mark a task as a “resubmit” and you tell me that the task is so much better now, a couple months later! (You could either wait a few weeks longer till you tape, till you’re reasonably certain you can do the task as the sheets say, or send fewer tasks more often, to check your progress.).

I view the tapes asap and I try to have a turn-a-around of 10 days of receiving them. (Be sure and check my schedule before sending your tape just in case I am out of town for a while, which may impact the assessment time - (Carol's 2008 Schedule) Click here! Then I will call you. I prefer to talk to you personally, whether or not we’ve ever met or you’ve ever taken a clinic from me. If you DO NOT hear from with within 15 days PLEASE call me 615-444-2039 because I am probably having trouble getting in touch with you for a number of reasons.

Therefore it is very important that you provide me with a phone number, what time zone that phone number is in, and the best hours to try to reach you.

If I miss you, I will leave a message that I called and I will leave a number that you can reach me and an approximate time you can call me back.

Please include a sheet of paper with your name, horse’s name, your address, phone, and the tasks you are submitting (I.e., OL2-6, FS 2,3,5, etc.) Refer to your printout of the tasks to see the numbers of each task.

When you are submitting what you believe is the last tasks of a level, include the original assessments if you have them.

Include the check or money order made out to Carol Coppinger and send the tape to P.O Box 788, Mt. Juliet, Tn 37121

When you ship it USPS has boxes free of charge for the VHS tapes.

Write me a letter along with your other papers explaining anything I need to know while watching the tasks.

There are a few things that are specific for Level 1 tapes: Level 1 video's are a flat fee $100 and that includes as many resubmits and phone coaching sessions as needed to get you finished and your string and certificate. If you are a Savvy Club member it is $75. Be sure and include the full name, phone and address of the person including the horse's name.

You will have a much clearer idea of what the tasks should look like if you watch DVD #6 Section 2 of the Partnership Pack.

If you follow the Level 1 homestudy course, you should be able to pass the Level 1 tasks with no trouble.

Level 2 & 3 guidelines:

Don’t be discouraged if it seems to be taking you a LOT longer to get through Level 2 & 3. Be sure to take advantage of all the resources that PNH has to offer: DVDs, videos, the Savvy Club, the Online Support on the Parelli website, are a few of the sources of ongoing support.

Please don't send more then 30 minutes of footage at a time for level 2 assessment. For level 3 coaching please send a max of 15 minutes. Program coaching should be limited to 5 minutes.

Use the same horse on all tasks (exceptions are possible but please call and clarify why) The cost for Level 2 video coaching and/or assessments are a flat fee of $200 and that includes as many resubmits and phone coaching sessions as needed to get you finished(no matter how long!) and your awards pack(String and Certificate). If you are a Savvy Club member it is $150. Please contact Carol (carol@carolcoppinger.com) for details and fees for level 3 coaching.

Checklist for sending tapes:

All tasks clearly shown on tape; please play the tape to make sure it got on there before you send it to me!

Tape labeled with your name, your horse’s name, your address, phone, time zone, and best times to reach you.

Appropriate task sheets included (originals of previous submits if this is a resubmit; blanks if this is a first-time)

A letter of explanation and questions if you have any.

Check for proper amount included and made out to Carol Coppinger.

Video securely packaged Addressed to Carol Coppinger, PO Box 788, Mt. Juliet, Tn 37121.

Be sure and make a copy since I DO NOT return tapes. I can handle VHS, VHS-c or DVD.
